Ame to Yume no Ato Ni [J-Drama]

It's been a while since i post something in here.. time to give some review on another J-Drama i've been watching and i've brought a drama which was aired 2005-Apr-15 to 2005-Jun-17

Summary:

Based on a novel by Akutagawa Prize-winning author, Yu Miri, ‘Ame to Yume no Ato ni’ is a story about the supernatural and the bonds between a father and daughter.

Sakurai Tomoharu is a single parent who has an extremely close relationship to his daughter. One of his hobbies is catching and collecting butterflies, and he has traveled to Taiwan to catch a very rare butterfly, the Troides magellanus. It’s so rare it’s been called the “phantom butterfly.” The legend goes that whoever catches this butterfly will become a phantom themselves.

Back in Japan, Tomoharu’s daughter, Ame, hasn’t received a phone call from her father in days and begins to worry. However, when Tomoharu does return, he has no recollection of how he got back to Japan, or what happened at all. Ame notices strange things beginning to happen all around her . . .

With the help of his neighbor Akiko, Tomoharu begins to piece together what happened back in Taiwan, and comes to a horrifying conclusion

Review: 9/10 *SPOILER ALERT*

Well, i have to say i enjoy watching this because since it is based from a novel, you can sense the epic style and i have to say the depth and detail on what's happening. I cannot say what's going to happen but one thing that i can say is that the synopsis (which was taken from DramaWiki) does not reveal the main thing about this story. FYI, has a horror genre so you can expect something that you usually watch in horror to be appearing on this. Yup, as you can see, the father died and somehow when he come to sense he was back in his apartment. All of this is because he cannot abandoned his daughter because he's the only person she had left. However he do not want his daughter and other people know he's actually dead, so he need some help from his neighbour as she claimed that she's an ESP. BUT, the problem with ghost is dead, they tend to attract other spirit to them, therefore because of that, wandering ghost were attracted to Tomoharu and his daughter. Yup, it is a ghost story all right!! and thus this is where Tomoharu said the coolest word in the story "I WILL PROTECT YOU EVEN AFTER I'M DEAD".. Well, there's other problem he's to dealt as well, but enjoy as  there are many secrets have yet to be told and something about ghost need to be tell.. ( yup it has a good depth)

That's the first point, the second point is the usual thing that happen around and as you can see from the

synopsis, it is about a father and a daughter and I have to say it is quite touching until the very end. It is quite sad in a way but i have to say it is brought out well, and the ending was great..

Well, maybe if this was on widescreen and the quality can be better, i might give 10/10.. anyway enjoy..
